I shot these images on the last day of 2015. Lucy is such an amazing athlete and I wanted to create something new. Fusing the sports of tennis and ballet is similar to combining hip hop and lyrical dance to create something fresh and unique. A trip to New York City last year allowed me to be as creative as I want. Designing dresses from garbage items is something I find so challenging yet so rewarding. After creating this dress, I set out on the streets on NYC to capture the story between a man and his newspaper. To see behind the scenes click here: www.youtube.com/birdypeacock
I shot this series of images underwater. Using my mums wedding dress! The striking colour of the models hair against the black background really stands out to me and we had a lot of fun shooting these images. Check out behind the scenes at www.youtube.com/birdypeacock
I took these images before I had professional lighting. I actually used my car headlights to light the photos. I wanted to continue on that theme of mechanics/cars/machinary. A ballerina's body is like a well oiled machine, they fuel it with the right food, maintain and prevent injury and perform to be best of their ability. I had body painter, Sandra Temple, paint the dancers from head to pointe shoe in metallic copper paint. To see Behind The Scenes of this work please visit www.youtube.com/birdypeacock
These are some of my dance photography photos. As a dancer myself, I find great joy and passion capturing the moments of a dancers peak performance. I am able to work with my dancers and choreograph them positions/movement to create something amazing. Contact me for a dance shoot of your own! www.youtube.com/birdypeacock
I teamed up with the beautiful Bronte and her sister Lily to shoot these images. Although we only got two images, it is a concept I'd love to try again. We shot them in the middle of winter and it was freezing! Egg carton, fishing net, glitter and some intense eyelashes created some eye catching images. She looks like a sea creature emerging from the water.
As a performer myself, I know a lot of actors, dancers, singers who are in constant need of updated head shots. Here is a small collection of head shots I have taken. To update your headshot in time for your next audition, email me! email@example.com www.youtube.com/birdypeacock
Slide show of some of my images (of myself) taken over the years. They were for no ones benefit but my own and I keep them to look back on and remind myself how far I have come as a creator/photographer in the past few years. I would like to go back on some of these concepts and reshoot them.
I somehow find it a rewarding challenge to be able to create something special out of nothing. Using rubbish items you would find in the bin and turning them into a work of art. Spray painting them metallic silver/gold to make them look like they are worth something. All designs and photography by me.
My very talented friend Laura Sharp and her make up artistry, reinvented an old look i had shot in the past. To see behind the scenes CLICK HERE: www.youtube.com/birdypeacock
Sharni Spencer is a ballerina in the Australian Ballet. She is also my cousin, and when she was touring in Brisbane I knew we had to team up and shoot some amazing images of her talent.
